Founding Partner – Thomas Rymer Jr. CPA


Thomas Rymer Jr
. CPA, was the founding member of Rymer & Associates P.A. Tom began the Certified Public Accounting practice with his partner Richard Phelps in 1986.  For the next 30 years Tom grew the practice to over 1,000 clients serving the southern Maryland community and across the eastern United States.  Tom established his reputation as an expert in individual, business and estate tax matters along with comprehensive planning for the many businesses in the region.  His leadership, reputation and professionalism is what the firm is built on and continues today.

 

Martha G Rymer CPA President

Martha graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. After graduation she came to work for Phelps & Rymer, P.A. and then left to pursue her career as CFO at Calvert Memorial Hospital. In 1998 she returned to Rymer & Associates, P.A as a Senior Accountant. Martha specializes in Financial Analysis of medical practices and offers tax, accounting and consulting services to all of her clients. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Maryland Association of CPAs.

 

Janet Haskin, EA, CPA

Janet joined Rymer & Associates, P.A. in 2000 as a Senior Accountant. She has over 25 years of public accounting and income tax experience. She provides extensive tax, accounting and consulting services for a wide range of clients, including professionals, construction, and land development companies. Janet is the Quality Control Manager for the firm in addition to the technical reviewer for all of the firms’ financial statements and is a primary reviewer for all tax return preparation services. Janet graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. In addition, she is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Maryland Association of CPAs.

 

Louise Kelsh, CPA

Louise joined Rymer & Associates, P.A. over 25 years ago working full time during our busy season. She specializes in the review and preparation of complex individual tax returns.  Louise graduated in 1984 from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  In addition to her extensive tax experience she previously worked in the private sector as a Controller for MDC, Inc, a subsidiary of Day & Zimmermann, Inc.  Louise is a long term resident of Calvert County where she lives with her husband and children.

 

Meredith Schueller CPA

Meredith rejoined Rymer & Associates P.A. in 2016 having previously worked for the firm in 2006.  Meredith offers over 20 years of public accounting and income tax experience.  She provides strong experience with business clients over a broad spectrum of industries.  Meredith is a certified QuickBooks Pro advisor and has experience in accounting system set up and support.  She enjoys working directly with clients on all of their business accounting needs.  She has extensive knowledge and experience with business and personal tax preparation.  Meredith graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a member of the Maryland Association of CPA’s.

 

Linda Giacone, EA

Linda is a Staff Accountant with Rymer & Associates, P.A. and began working with the firm in January 2003. She graduated from George Mason University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent. Linda has more than 25 years’ experience and provides tax, accounting, and QuickBooks software support services to our clients. She specializes in payroll compliance and prepares Quarterly and Annual Tax Returns for our payroll clients. She is a member of the Maryland Society of Accountants and the National Association of Enrolled Agents.

 

Maho Pike, EA

Maho joined the firm in 2016 coming with over 14 years of experience in accounting.  At a previous company, she worked as a Staff Accountant overseeing the financial records for 14 different businesses and the last two years she has worked in public accounting preparing business and individual tax returns.  Maho has her Associates degree from Beppu University Junior College and is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent. Maho lives with her husband and daughter in Southern Maryland.

 

Terri Taylor

Terri is a Staff Accountant with Rymer & Associates, P.A. and began working with the firm in March 2013. She has over 23 years of public accounting, tax preparation and write-up experience. She is currently working towards completion of her Associates of Applied Science in accounting degree. Terri is also studying to become a QuickBooks Pro Advisor.

 Melanie Moser, Office Manager

Melanie joined the firm in 2015 and after a few months moved into the Office Manager position.  Melanie has over 15 years’ experience in customer service and 7 years’ experience in business office management. Melanie is a Graduate from the College of Southern Maryland and is a Public Notary.
